call the doctor who did your surgery and let them know what is happening...perhaps he/she will want to see you sooner rather than later.

Just guessing......

but it could be one of the leads stimulating your diaphragm. Hope I spelled that correctly:)

Diaphragmatic Pacing

Hi Justmepacing,

I'm with Pookie. I bet it's your diaphragm. When I first got my PM, mine was stimulating my diphragm. I couldn't figure out what was going on so I asked if it was my heart trying to over-ride the PM.

They looked at my stomach and said "oh, it's pacing your diaphragm." He called it diaphragmatic pacing (not sure if that's a real term or not), and explained that your diaphragm is really close to one of the leads. It actually starts pacing your diaphragm just as if it were your heart. They made one quick adjustment and I haven't had any problems since.

Mention it to you doc or PM tech to see if they can tweek it just a bit. It felt so much better after they changed it. I know, it's a weird feeling. Kind of like a cross between a hiccup and retching while throwing up. Neither are pleasant. LOL!

Good luck!

Thanks!

I am so glad to know that I have someone who has been through some of the things I have. That is so comforting. Thanks for all the help! Hope everyone has a great day tomorrow or today...It is midnight here. Still pacing ;)
