I am new to this site. I have had complications from day one! I had the pm put in 3/20. I had a lot of swelling that has finally started going down thankfully. My problem is I feel like my doctor does not listen to me. I have a burning sensation this is new about 4 day. Two days ago had the feeling that the site was warm. This morning the site feels like it is on fire. I have placed a call to the doctor without a call back. Should I wait for the call back or just go to ER. Thanks for all the help. I think this is infected. Just waiting on doctor. I have had 3 rounds of antibiotics!

ER

I would go to the ER or your local urgent care clinic ASAP. I have had an infection and spent 2 weeks in the hospital, wound opened and packed with gauze and meds, IV, horrible pain in my arm from the antibiotics and pricks in the tips of my fingers EVERYDAY to check my blood. It was horrible not to mention the doctors were freaked out. Infection very very bad in you pacemaker site!!
Best of luck.

And yes as posted above, if it is a staph infection normal antibiotics will not clear it up!
Take care.

If Dr doesn't call you back today, go to ER. Sounds like an infection and maybe the antibiotics didn't completely clear it up.
Good luck and let us know how you make out....

Thanks for all the info. I did get a call back and the doctor on call told me that if it wasn't red not to be to worried about it and to put ice pack on it and call my doctor. Just called my doctor and he told me to take tylenol and to lay around. He told me to come and see him on the 17th. I am so fed up. I live in Oklahoma by the way. Fixing to go to the ER.

My pacemaker has ultimately saved mine and my unborn childs life for which I am thankful.

It's important to catch an infection early since you have recently installed wires penetrating the blood vessel walls. An infection in the pacer pocket can find it's way into the blood stream and turn mean very fast. Have you taken your temperature. Monitor any fever and head for ER if it appears. Be sure the ER knows you have had the 3 rounds of antibiotics and ask them to check on what they were before precribing any new ones. Also, ask about how soon you can expect an improvement and what to do if they don't work.
Remember, you are the customer. Don't take being put off. In at least one case I have walked into my doctors office and announced that I was having a potentially serious problem and needed to be seen. I made sure my voice was loud enough to heard in the waiting room when I said that my calls weren't being returned. At least in that case I was ushered quickly into an examining room.
good luck
