Help with Settings

Hi:

I'm due to see the cardio Dr & also have my device checked (or interrogated) next week.

Any advice on how to discuss the topic of whether my settings are right for me when I see the Dr.?

I really don't know, but from what I read at this site, it sounds like a settings adjustment is / can be helpful in eliminating discomfort . What is the risk of getting new settings that might be more uncomfortable???

It has been over 6 months since I received the pacemaker and I've had Palpitation & Fluttering sensations often , And something just doesn't feel right in the chest area.

(After my last consultations, my cardiologist advised increasing my Metoprolol to 25 mg 4 times a day & it helped somewhat. Also taking magnesium. Xray, Holter monitor and ECG readings did not indicate any cause. )

And Many Thanks to all who post & respond at this website.

Blessings to all,

Bruce

no risk

There is no risk to changing the settings. If it doesn't make you feel better, they can always change it back. Often they will do changes in small increments so it's easier to tell what's working. Make a note of the dates/times you don't feel well so they can see if it corresponds to pacing.

Did you have palpitations and fluttering before? The pm can't do much for pvc's and pac's, if that's what it is. Did you have any of them while you were on the Holter? If you did, they should be able to tell you what it was.

Prior sensations

The palpitations and flutterings are new, definitely can't recall anything like this before getting the PM.
(I had been diagnosed with "Arrhythmia 2nd degree".)

I did have these while on the Holter & kept a written log of the times these sensations were felt but no reason was found.

Pvc's & pac's - Any info would be appreciated - how would these be determined & what would be a possible treatment?

Thanks very much for responding, it's good to know there is little risk in changing the settings.

You know you're wired when...

You play MP3 files on your pacer.
