Does anyone use Scarprin on their pacemaker site? It is a silicone gel that soaks in and coats the skin/scar. Would it hurt the pacemaker if I used it too soon?
My skin is very delicate itchy and dry!

scar closed?

How do I know if the scar is closed---It has been 4 weeks and when I shower the water touching it makes it burn. That seems to indicate it is not fully healed yet..doesn't it?

After 4 weeks it should be all closed up, not necessarily fully healed and pain free but closed. If it's that sensitive, I'd see if someone from your drs office could take a quick peek before putting anything on it, and I'd stick to something all natural rather than silicone so you don't aggravate it more. Good luck!

Just to finish up here in case anyone else is following (not just me LOL)
So now it is 6 weeks and not 4 anymore---I feel great and the scar no longer burns a little when shower water runs on it. So I think at 4 weeks it was NOT fully healed.
I never did use anything on the scar---just some regular lotion on the skin around it where it was dry.
In fact I put suntan lotion on because our pool opened up last weekend and there was no burning or any reaction.
This PM has saved my life and I love it!

I used vitamin e and aloe. Make sure it's completely closed before using anything. It won't hurt the pm either way but you don't want to risk infection.
