Did anybody did the PM implant in HKG

Did anybody did the PM Implant in HKG /
Can you recomend a doctor and/or hospital ?
As an Expat I am now in HKG but will go back to Israel within few months, do you know if there is a problem with maintenance/periodic checks in different location than the implant was done ?

Do you mean is there a problem having checks in Israel? Is this your home country? I would suggest you make sure you have a good check up before you leave HKG, then make sure you take all your medical notes with you. Go to a GP when you get to Israel and ask who is a good Cardio/EP, then make an appointment and take your notes with you. I can't see that you will have any problem,
but get it all sorted as soon as you arrive back, so you have an EP ready in case you were to have any problems. All the best, and let us know how you go when you arrive back.

Alma,
Maybe I did not explain my question. Of course there is no problem to be treated in Israel. Since it will be 6 to 12 months until I will go back to Israel I want to have the implantation surgery in HKG. my questios are:
- Can you recomend MD or location ?
- Can you comment on having implantation in one location (HKG) and later maintenance in Israel, do u expect problem with this ?

No problem

Hi Giora

Answering your second question first. There will be absolutely no problem in having a PM installed in Hong Hong and then checked up somewhere else. It happens all the time..people move around, change countries etc post-PM, I assume that your PM will be manufactured by one of the big Western countries and won't be some Chinese brand that nobody in Israel has heard of.

I have had hospital treatment in HKG , but not related to my PM . I know you have the choice of Chinese and Western medicine . As you are returning to Israel I would definitely go to a Western establishment and insist that you have one of the big names...Medtronic, St Jude, Sorin etc

Best of luck

Chinese pacemakers

by IAN MC - 2012-10-21 01:10:47

Hello again Giora . I was curious so did a few searches ( I have a son who lives in Shanghai which helped )

Apparently there are only 2 Chinese companies making their own pacemakers.. Shanxi Quinming, and Hangshou Keaxin. Both seem to be exclusively for the Chinese market and don't even have brochures in English ; so stick with the big Western brands !
