...if you do not feel up to going back to work in two days. Some of us can, some of us do - I was back to working the second day out of the hosp. That, however is not the norm.
There can be complications - or - you just might not feel up to it. Surgery takes something out of us & often it takes a few days to get the starch back in our sails.
Just read around in here to see what some folks go through prior to returning to work.
Best to you in this event.

...try TOP RIGHT..Search..punch in 'POST OP' to see previous observations. They will vary considerably, but may help. Two days is a bit on the soonish side...depends on what you do for a living...working with a screen should be ok but if you work as a circus high-wire act you would be better advised to wait a bit longer. The old 'Dont raise Your Arm Rule' makes total sense...no-one wants to get the old Do Not Pass Go-Do Not Collect Pacemaker routine.
Tell them at work that the whole PM Forum says that they have to pamper and fuss over you for a good long time..
It'll be ok

...LW, it would help if you told the Forum what your 'work' entails...Post Op cautions will be different for different occupations.
It seems to me that a sensible line between Overconfidence and Overcautiousness is where you need to be.
PM People are not victims, on the contrary, Pm People are the lucky ones...just dont push Luck too far...!
This could be the best thing for you this year.

Going back to work

This is my 4th day with a PM and I'm still home. Two days is quite ambitious I'm ready to take a walk but not work. I think you have to chill and listen to your body.
Best wishes to you

I am a side sleeper and normally on my right side. For whatever reason gravity pulling down makes this sooo painful. It took me two days and complete desperation to try laying on my left. There was barely any pain at all. (pm is on left side).
I felt good after 6 days in regards to the actual healing. The continual afib issues are still keeping me at half days for a little bit.
Good luck!

I wasn't really self-conscious about it. I didn't even know I had one until around six or seven years old. I just thought I had a rock in my side.

You may be able to go back to work after a couple of days but I think you should give yourself a week off work to rest up and get over surgery. While it is only considered minor you will be sore for a start, so as Tattoo Man says let people pamper you for a few days. Make sure you take a button or zip down the front top to wear home. Will be thinking of you on the 13th. Best wishes.
