Has anyone had trouble with the night checks on the pacemaker. I know for a fact that the night checks were causing a lot of my problems. I demanded that two of them be turned off and requested a printout. found out I have three night checks. Each check does a threshhold test and adjust the amps accordingly. I was having panic attacks with my heart racing out of control. They tried to say it was pacemaker syndrome and tried to put me on pills. I said no and was on a rampage. I hate being controlled by people who do not listen to the patient. Well, Two of the checks are turned off leaving the wire check on because the wiring is 28 years old. I have made a graph and also found that the amps were turned up way too high on the top chamber causing skipped heartbeats. That has also been turned down but still have skipped beats at times. I seem to be better than I have been for the last 4 years. I can still feel fluttering when the check is happening if I am awake but nothing like before. This is the second pacemaker with the check system and I have had plenty of implants since 64. The last pacemaker I felt horrible also and know I know why.
Recently I had 2 teeth pulled. 3 days after my head felt foggy and my right arm when dead but could still move it. 10 days after that I was sitting down and my head got really dizzy and my right arm tingled and 5 days latter I was walking to the bed and my throat started burning on the right side, head tingled, and right side went numbish. But my left arm and leg also started feeling funny. Back in my younger days I would have been hospitalized and test ran until the problem was found. Not today. I have had 3 emergency visits and been told anything from TIA to nerves. Although I had my teeth pulled seems to be unrelated although there are articles on the net that state different. If you pray I need all I can get please. I am still having numb sensations in my face, neck - right side and left arm. I have ringing in my ears and headaches also. Been having headaches and dizzy spells since the steriod shot in my lower back in September.

You know you're wired when...
Microwave ovens make you spark.

Yesterday was my first day mountain biking after my implant. I wiped out several times and everything is fine. There are sports after pacemakers!

if possible - I think you need a 2nd opinion; a new set of eyes and hopefully a pair of ears that are willing to listen.
Your body is trying to tell you something, too bad your doctor won't listen.
I've had several steroid shots since having my pacer in 2004 with no side effects, but maybe your headaches and dizziness are because of the steroid, go to a reliable site (like the Mayo Clinic) and research if steroid injections can cause headaches & dizziness.
Your other symptoms (throat burning, head tingling, etc,) perhaps you need to be seen by a Neurologist???
It's very sad, but these days (in my opinion) we have to really push the doctors to take us seriously, but just remember: the squeaky wheel gets the grease. Who cares what they think - right? - as long as you get the care you need.
Please don't sit back hoping these symptoms disappear, call your family doctor and get her to refer you to someone who can help you.
Take care and the very best of luck.
