Pulse skips a Beat

I had a Revo MRI Surescan installed 3 weeks ago, and the device sometimes skips a beat, or goes fast for a moment and then settles down. Anyone out there has similar symptoms of such irregularity? BTW I'm the guy who exercises all the time, and my dr says go 4 it.

Junctional Rhythm?

Gerald,

I am in the same boat as you, just one week longer, had this implanted one month ago now almost.

I have Sick Sinus, that is why mine is in, bradycardia.

I am getting the fast beat thing, but my EP said it was junctional rhythms that they were seeing as the cause of me feeling that.

I swear I dont remember feeling them as much since I got this, but my holter monitors before I got the pacer did show junctional rhythms. I think I am just way more in tune to everything since it is all so new.

I am an exercise person also, and have been trying to kick it up a bit, but I still need some adjustments.

My EP says the junctionals are not something I need to worry about, since they raise me from say 45 to 60, then back down.

Of course, he thinks too that if I turned up the pacer to higher rate, say 70 or so, they would go away, but I really had alot of trouble with such a high rate right out of the box, they turned my back to 40 for now, just so my body could more slowly adjust to this new thing.

Not sure if that helps, but it is one idea, and is sort of what I have been experiencing too.

Thanks for that.

I think that the response of a heart muscle to a foreign body is more complicated than the drs and the PM manufacturers make out. I don't know whether my heart will settle down after a while or whether the PM needs to be continually tweeked until the electronics and my natural (crappy) heart rhythm get accustomed to each other.

One week has passed and I must admit that each day I feel a little stronger.
