Tiredness overtook me

Hey y'all. I went to work today. Wednesday will be week 4. I was only able to stay there for 4-5 hours and then had to come home to rest. Is this normal? If so, how long will it take to have a longer period of sustained energy?

When you feel tiredness overtaking

Run from it! LOL

Seriously, give yourself some time to work back up to your normal energy. Something that works well if you can arrange your schedule at work is to take a short break before you feel it coming on. If you keep a break or nap to around 10-15 minutes you don't get into deep sleep that leaves it hard to wake up.

I used that after my back surgery in 1984. I was teaching at the community college and it was easy to schedule breaks in my office. I would lay on a pad on the floor with my lower legs up on my chair. Recorded a 10 minute clip of music which woke my up when it stopped. It all worked great.

I thought I was fine, but looking back the first month was a blur for me, even though I didn't have much pain. Emotionally it can be tiring.
Hopefully you will feel much better soon but don't push yourself too hard ! Pace yourself! :)

Thank you

It's most helpful to hear from each of you. I took the whole day off today for my 11:30 appt. I have earned lots of sick time over the last 20 years of teaching so I'm gonna use it when I feel too tired even for a 10-15 min nap.
