Hi all,
Thanks to each and everyone who responded to my post yesterday about my arm pain. I did go to the hospital and after an echo & doppler of the arm and subclavian vein, they discovered you were all correct! I have a blood clot in the superior vena cava vein with blockage to right arm. The test revealed no flow thru the arm. I have been given my first dose of Coumadin and first lovenox injection. Still having lots of pain but hopefully this will begin to subside now that I am getting pain meds for it as well.
Thanks again to all who urged me to get help and not listen to the attending physician about waiting to go.
Again, this site is such a blessing!
Susan

Good grief! I am so sorry that I was not available, but that our friends were!
I had the same thing happen to me in 2005! Had I been online I would have begged you to go. I waited and I ended up in the hospital for 6 days. I'm so glad you didn't listen to the dr. that recommended that you wait. A blood clot is nothing to fool around with or even the possibility of one either!
Thank heavens that our PM friends can recognize a serious situation as only they can. Many of us can speak from personal experience and do.
Please keep us posted on how you are doing. I am left with an arm that is much larger (to me anyway) than the other.... But, I'm still here!

I'm soooooo glad you went to the ER. A lot of us hesitate to go to the ER because of several reasons; one being the long wait and possibly being dismissed by the staff, however, with that being said, I've always maintained that when we don't feel right our bodies will tell us.
Thank you so much for updating us and I hope you are feeling much better quite quickly.
Take care,
Pookie
