Arm much worse...

Hi all,
Posted about my arm pain yesterday but woke up this morning with arm swollen to double its size and discolored. It looks like your arm when a tourniquet has been on for too long. Called the hospital and they paged the ep on call. Just told me to come in the morning to see my ep. I love how they act like we are crazy when they don't know us!

Has anyone had the pain, swelling and discoloration? What should I be expecting with this? If anyone has experienced this please let me know, I am quite concerned. Haven't ever gone thru this.

Thanks for any info.
Susan

Hi Susan,
Off the top of my head, two things come to mind. One is Superior Vena Cava Syndrome and the other is a blood clot.

Maybe a few others will chime in here, but IMO I wouldn't wait until the morning. I'd go to the ER now and let a Dr see your arm.

Hope all is well!

Best to you,
Gellia

I wouldn't wait either....

I would go to the ER immediately so they can see what your arm looks like now; (hopefully they will at least give you an Xray or a CT scan to see what's going on with it) as mentioned above it could be a blood clot which is not that uncommon - it happens:(

Please keep us posted.

Clot is a possibility, go to the ER if you can't reach your dr asap.

Go directly to EMERGENCY ROOM (NOW) not tomorrow, not in a few hours but right now. Someone needs to SEE what is there and make a sensible decision! Remember once you get there that you DO NOT have to be nice! DEMAND an answer and TREATMENT!! Remember THIS IS YOUR LIFE (and I do not mean the t v program of years past) Be just a persistant as you like, those that do not like it will certainly and quickly get over it!
Good luck and please keep us informed.
