V-Tach

Hi all,
My first transmittal (with this pacer) shows episodes of v-tach. Is anyone dealing with this? I was on amiodorone years ago but became toxic with it after 9 months. I have not had any episodes for years. I don't want to go with an icd if I don't have too. Is anyone having this and if so what is being done for it? Also, can you feel this while it is happening? I am just having that dizzy feeling like I am about to faint.

My doc wants me to report any problems right away but I also have afib and pvc's so many times my heart feels like it is going to jump out of my chest. How do we know the difference?

Hope all has a great day!
Susan

if you aren't sure what it is, go to the ER! Better safe than sorry. When you feel faint, have you checked your pulse to see how fast it is?

V-tach is treated with meds and sometimes icd if the runs are dangerously fast or not helped with the meds. How fast is it? tach just means fast, which can mean anything from a little high to off the charts dangerous.

I have not dealt with v-tach but I know it's serious. I'd take any change of feeling as serious. V-tach is deadly verse a-tach which is just annoying (what I have and it feel as though my heart will jump out of my chest as well). If your doc suggests it, consider an ICD.

t-tach vs v-fib

V-fib is deadly. V-tach can be anything from mildly annoying to dangerous. If the rate is elevated at all, it's called tachycardia. V means it's coming from the ventricle rather than the atria.

To tell you the truth I never even give it a second thought. While growing up it never stopped me from doing anything and to this day my girlfriend or my kids need to remind me that I have one!
