A week and a half ago, I was admitted to the hospital with complications from sinus surgery and pneumonia. Three days later I was told I had to have a pacemaker. You can well imagine my shock. I was in the hospital for 8 days - which included additional sinus surgery. To my shock, when I was released from the hospital, I found out that my Internst quit his practice and I have no regular doctor for follow up care. I have yet to be assigned a doctor by U.C. Davis Medical Center. They say I can get a new doctor in June! This, of course added to my stress. I'm currently trying to get as much information as I can about my new St Jude dual chamber PM2210 pacemaker. Any suggestions about what type of information I need and where to get those resources is helpful. I think I need a medical ID alert bracelet or something of that nature. I'm told there is an ID card coming in the mail. Any suggestions about care are appreciated.

I enjoy kayaking - any idea on how long it will be before I can add pressure to my shoulder?
