I have read posts on here that pacemakers can flip. I think mine may be doing that at a slow pace. It is really painful. I do believe it hurts worse now than when I first got it done. I had it put in on August 18, 2011. I am 45 yrs old.
Every time I use my left arm I feel it. I know to expect some tenderness at times but this is ongoing now. It just started happening about a week ago. I’m going to call my doctor today.
Someone said something about frequent hiccups too. Please comment if you know anything about this.
I will post what my doctor says. I’m glad I have found a site that has people with pacemakers....I don’t feel so alone.

Welcome, If you do a search for "hiccups" you will be able to find postings on that and a lot more. Upper right hand side of the menu bar.
p.s. caps on makes it hard to read.

Mine is only a month old and there is no pain at all. I wonder why you have tenderness all the time. Is it under your skin or muscle? Mine waddles about when I wash under that arm but I have found a way to hold my arm up without pushing the pacer out and I suppose it'll become habit soon enough.

Hi lrountree....I'm one of the monitors/moderators of the site and just wanted to let you know that it was I who re-typed your post. If I messed up what you were trying to get across or ask - just let me know and I'll be happy to fix it for you.
Yes, pacemakers can flip and they can move out of position too....unfortunately, but it's not that common.
Like pacergirl mentioned - the Search feature is wonderful because it can give you oodles and oodles of information on whatever particular subject you may be researching....not that you can't ask a zillion questions on the main board because you can:) We are here to help in any way that we can.
Glad you found us!!!!!!!!
Keep us posted on what your doctor has to say...ok?
Take care,
Pookie
A big thank you

I had my pm inserted on the same date as you. I don't have any pain at all, unless I press it hard which is a dumb thing to do. Hope you get your problems sorted, I will be interested to hear what your Dr says.
Regards Jane
