Hit my lung

They hit my lung while putting in biventricular pacemaker. They didnt want to put in tube to empty air because my blood was too thin.I am waiting to see if it will fill my lung on its own, Has anyone else experenced this? Have they come out ok? I am short of breath of course.

but I did have drain put in, which was extremely painful. They did say that the lung can heal itself. I probably took a couple of weeks or more to get over getting pm and having punctured lung, but have had no problems since. Take it easy, don't rush to do things and you will be fine.

Lung

They punctured my lung when they put in my initial PM 12 yrs ago. I think it was the most painful thing I have ever experienced. They gave me painkillers for short term and within about a week the lung had healed and re-inflated itself. I was told that it is a possible event and does happen in some cases. I'm fine now and you will be too in time!

Yes, I had a Pneumothorax with the first PM. They put a chest tube in right away. I was so weak and could not breathe before the tube. The chest tube did hurt but I only needed it for two days. My pacemaker is in the right upper chest. Good Luck and feel better.
