Worried about the music

I'm scheduled to get a PM soon. Does anyone know if electric guitars, instruments, and PA systems cause any problems with PM's? I've been playing in a rock & roll band for 30 years an fear I'll have to give it up. Thanks Bon

Bon (Jovi)

The only problem is that your strap hits right on the pacer and you will need to make a pad for the strap. My Fender Jazz Bass weighs 9 lbs and the first couple of times I played it irritated the pacer. Now with the pad it is no problem.

No worries about electronic problems-

Not Jovi, Genuine Risk

Thanks for the information! I hope that staying a distance from speakers (magnets) will be enough. (won't be welding) I also use a wireless transmitter on my guitar, mic, and earbud monitor. I assume that caution and careful positioning away from the PM will be okay.

Good to hear the only problem may be the strap. That might be an easy fix! Now if I can get as comfortable with the medical aspects I'll feel better.

May seem shallow to think about the music, but music is such an good outlet, I'd hate to face the PM ordeal without a stress outlet. btw, not bon Jovi or Bonnie Raitt, but do have a FB page.....Genuine Risk...all female band. (there is another by same name but they're not all girls.

Thanks again for the input

Bass!

Hi! Sometimes I feel the bass sort of pounding in my chest when I'm close to the speakers, at an AC/DC tribute concert last week I got my husband to stand in front of me. Not sure if its the vibration, got my rate response on!

Not Jovi

Hi Bon,

I kind of had a feeling you weren't a Jovi-

I know what you mean about the music as an outlet, it is important to have something in life that floats your boat and I feel the same.

I had asked my doctor about the magnets in speakers and he basically said that unless you climbed into the cabinet or stick your chest right up against it there won't be a problem. I have played plenty and there's no worries. So pad your strap and play on-

I will look for your FB page-

I`m on my 3rd PM, and the only things to look out for are strong magnets and welding cables.
