Pacemaker Soreness

Hello 4claire,

I'd like to add my 2 cents here also, I recently had my pacemaker implanted last month and I still feel the soreness too.

Do you know if the PM was implanted in the muscle or just below your clavicale?

Also, if you don't have much adipose tissue that could also be the reason, this is what my EP told me.

Thanks

Tenderness

I had a pacemaker implant on January 23 and it is still tender around the area of the incision and pacemaker. I can not say it is painful, but it is tender. I would think the flesh and body are still healing from being invaded, and it will just take some time to heal and to adjust to the invasion. As long as your incision or the area in not red and feverish it is probably just the normal healing process.

You know you're wired when...

Your pacemaker interferes with your electronic scale.

The experience of having a couple of lengths of wire fed into your heart muscle and an electronic 'box' tucked under the skin is not an insignificant event, but you will survive.
