I have had a ICD inserted in late November of 2012 and have experienced transient and variable degrees of internal uncomfortable feelings in the area of my heart that have manifested into pains in my chest, neck, back, throat, and head. Breathing, laying down on my back or sides, or sitting in a chair with pressure on my back have at times been painful. If I bend over or lift anything of a weight of more than 10 pounds I feel it in my chest and it radiates to my through and elsewhere depending on the day. All the symptoms slowly subsided and then a week after they left, after strenuous activity they returned even worse. My doctors are clueless and indifferent. Has anyone have a similar experience

One week has passed and I must admit that each day I feel a little stronger.

The "clueless and indifferent" comment sets off all kinds of warning bells. Pain like you are describing is not normal. It could be something related to device programming, or as serious as a lead perforation. Get a second opinion from an electrophysiologist, not just a cardiologist.
Good luck, and keep us updated!
