Discomfort

I had surgery nearly four weeks ago. I still have some discomfort at my wound sight or where the pacemaker was inserted. It has healed well, but I wonder how long before all pain and tenderness will be gone.

Ginny give the pocket time to heal. That's where most of the trauma was. Takes time.

Welcome to the club!!

Obviously you had nerves skin and muscle cut during the surgery not to mention the bruising and trauma of the surgeon making the pocket to fit the pm into, so there is likely to be some pain whilst its all knitting back together.

Take some pain relief if it is hurting, but it shouldnt be bad for too much longer.

I had my pacemaker inserted 4 weeks ago too, and just last night I could sleep on my left side. I feel the pain is less now than last week, not completely gone, but it is better. Hang in there.

Where and how deep was it implanted

That can make a lot of difference. It also depends on what kind of activity you are doing. Mine was just under my skin below the clavicle bone. By 4 weeks I had very little pain from it. The only thing that happened a couple of times was when I reached across to connect a stubborn seat belt, and the movement squeezed the site causing the pacer to tip up on edge. It went back down into position by itself, but it irritated the pocket a bit. After a few months even that doesn't cause any problems.
