Hi, last time I had pacemaker replacement surgery I was able to go back to work after a day and drove myself, as I have no one else to drive me. I just had my 3rd pacemaker surgery, had the battery replaced, the leads are fine. I rested at home for one day & I intend to go out and drive around the corner. Is this ok? My nurse in hospital said it was fine, I am going to wear layers of clothing, a jacket & put a folded up towel over the surgical site to the shoulder harness won't hurt me. The incision is covered with gauze and clear tape; surgical strips were used to close the incision. I don't have much pain & feel fine. If someone can provide feedback, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

You know you're wired when...
You fondly named your implanted buddy.

As for my pacemaker (almost 7 years old) I like to think of it in the terms of the old Timex commercial - takes a licking and keeps on ticking.
Up to you

I'd add that I could have driven but was worried if I had to make a sudden move it would be impossible. So I waited a bit.
