Its been 2 days since I had my pacemaker implantation. I feel like things are great as far as the pacemaker goes. Dr said the pm started working immediately when he connected it. However, 2 days later my right shoulder/chest is KILLING me to the point that I can't get a deep breath. I called to Cardio post op nurse and she said it could be pinched nerve. Others say it could be gas!! I've certainly never had a gas pain so severe! Anybody ever experienced that.
Thanks
CJ

leaving hospital, to see if lead were in place, when I had mine they discovered I had a punctured lung, I had told the nurse it hurt to breath and I was breathless when I got out of bed, but she just brushed it off. If it is still bothering you, go have it checked. No two people are the same and it could be be as the nurse said a pinched nerve, Hope you start to feel better.
Best wishes
Jane

I had a pacemaker when I was 11. I never once thought I wasn't a 'normal kid' nor was I ever treated differently because of it. I could do everything all my friends were doing; I just happened to have a battery attached to my heart to help it work.
hard to breathe.....

that's when you should be heading to the ER. anything could be possible. I ended up with cardiac tamponade and pericarditis after having my pacemaker inserted. Not to scare you, but hey, when one finds it hard to breathe something is not right. Go to the ER.
