I did mention this in a reply to a posting but would like some input.
1 year old PM with 2 years life left in battery? Only pacing 17% of the time. I vaguely remember the tech mentioning the short life-span at the first interrogation, but she said it must be a glitch. Possibly a dud?
Any thoughts?

Something is not right, either a lead is bad, your settings are crazy, the report is wrong, or it's a dud. Ask your dr, not the tech, and insist on a straight answer.
You know you're wired when...
You play MP3 files on your pacer.

Sorry no one answered Shirley, it's good you tried again.
Of course I have no way of knowing your situation, so I'll tell you what happened with me.
One time when I had my device interrogated, after only 2 years, it read I had 1 year or so left. Prior to that the battery life read 8 years, so I was naturally concerned. The NP explained sometimes it can be a glitch and that the next time it is interrogated it may reset itself.
The next interrogation, 3 months later, sure enough it went back to 8 years and so far it has stayed there even after another 2 years. I am 100% paced so maybe the 8 year reading is a glitch too .LOL .I dont know. I have learned to expect the unexpected when it comes to my device.
This issue occurred for me when I was having a lead problem. My RV lead was stimulating my diaphragm and it was uncomfortable so they had to do a lead revision. I dont know if this caused the glitch but since the lead was corrected, it hasnt happened.
Was your reading a one time issue or has been it steadily reading 2 years left for your battery?
