I had my device changed today. It went well. I was at the hospital at 6 am for 8 o'clock change and was home by 2:30. I feel pretty good. I think the worse part was getting the iv in, it took 6 tries. (and they ended up not putting it in the arm the dr originally wanted it in) I was in and out during it. The novacaine stared wearing of a couple times. When they checked me before hand my hr without the pm was 33. I did take a nap when I got home and will take it easy the next few days. (I'm on vacation now so that helps) I did get a prescrition for perceset in case it's need. I may need it tomorrow when I have to change the bandage. Have a feeling it will hurt taking the tape off. (my skin is sensative. Last time I got a rash and it hurt just taking off all the tabs for the monitors, though there were a lot). Have to get my energy back. My oldest turns 13 Friday. Yikes!

Them IV's

There is no way getting an IV is comfortable. Glad everything else went well.
Strange they are changing the bandage so soon. In most cases they leave it on for about a week until it comes off by itself. Maybe it is because of your sensitivity and they want to look for any reaction.

Thanks for the wishes.
Frank- When I changes the bandage this morning I noticed that I still had steri-srtips covering the stitches. Last time they didn't put a bandage over them. (though it was a different place/doctor) This is just plain gauze that I'm using that needs to put on medical tape. (probably so I can check it each day for infrection and can still keep cleen)
Glad to hear

I only had the steri-strips and those suckers were still there 4 weeks afterwards. They just refused to go away. I was showering, but I was being very gentle with patting dry so maybe my babying them made them stay there so long. I just have a hard time (even now) really touching that area. Sorry, but it still creeps me out. I just pat it dry and move on. Mine's not very deep and I can feel the leads, etc. I'm glad it's there, I just don't want to get all touchy, feely with it.
