Quietly gettin on with it and adjusting as Im told to do. Great 1st day back at school, chaired a 3 hour meeting and gave a staff development lecture. Back home by 16:00 (Started at 07:00) GREAT!
Bad night woke 3 or 4 times with irregular heartbeat and headache. Up early, literally shaking but press on as getting moving sometimes improves how I feel. Get to schoo, pass ou before I get to my ffice. How I hate not being in controle of my senses retty ncoherent and off to the ER. Disprin 500mg on arrival, pain in neck jaw, ear and eye. BP between 160/115 and 144/ 103, clootig factor high (6). PR various, between 78 and 60 (PM 60). Wait for Authorisation for CT scan untill 14:00.
CT scan - nothing - Er doc feels it was a clot which had disolved in the 5-6 hours since the disprin.
GP phoned cardio this am - he suggested another 24 hour halter. What is the point? We know I have extra ventricular contraction when my own hert is beating. Fortunately not too often. Shouldnt we be adressing the BP and clotting factor? Should I be going to a specialist physician? I only have 12 visits per year to Dr/specialists. Should I be wasting 1 of the 8 I have left on this Cardio? He has not even come back to me with a time for the halter to be fitted and when I phoned the rooms at 4 min to 5 his answering machine "our office hours are from 8 - 5 thank you" was already on!
Would like to be an ostrich for a while, be able to stay on my feet and get to work for a while. Very frustrated.
Looking forward to your cheerful comments and sage advice
Thanks for listening
Shirley

Hi Shirley,
I have just read through your past posts and it sounds like something is not right. Were the pains you were having before the same as today? I think it is perfectly reasonable to be concerned with your BP and clotting factor. I would want a better answer than what you are getting. Regarding the holter, the benefit would be if it happens again, passing out, at least it would be recorded. Maybe there is something else going on that they have not seen yet.
I can totally understand your frustrations and just wanting to feel good and able to work, been there..done that :). I know you are limited to the number of specialist visits but it may be time to get a new cardio. I wouldn't leave the hospital until you are confident with their plan for treatment. You deserve to feel well!!!
I also noticed in one section of this post you had several "type-o's". Having read your prior posts, this stood out to me as unusual compared to your other writings. I know when my mom had a mild stroke she had a hard time typing for a while. Not to scare you but just something I noticed :)
Stay strong and I hope all goes well for you!
Heidi

I'm 44, active and have had my device for two years. I love it as I can run again and enjoy working out without feeling like I'm an old man.

will be making an appointment with alternate cardia today. Decided not to go for the halter as feeling much better. BP still up but irregular beats and pressure in throat and pain subsided. Would rather spend the visit on a 2nd opinion. I noticed th typos after posting, didnt even check as normally reasonably accurate. Also loosing words or substituting words in similar category. Know this is of concern.
Trying to learn for an exm tomorrow also not easy!
Will have a better day today.
