20 yr old with complete heart block. Have a dual chamber PM. Have an underlining rhythm. Not dependant on PM but it paces all the time because my heart rate is too slow 40's. Been getting chest pains lasting a few seconds all over the chest. Heavy feeling in chest. Went to ER , they found nothing wrong. PM working as it should. But heart rate has been elevated around 100's. Doctors dont know why this is happening. Done three blood tests, urine test , chest xray all were fine. But still have these chest pains. Help, kinda nervous.

I had the same thing two years ago and it was stress. The more I worried about it the worse it got. You had it checked, they would never let you leave the ER if something wasnt right.

Are you doing anything new that might cause muscle problems? As Frank and Wenditt said, nerves can do that.
Do you know if you are pacing atrial when you have the racing or if your sinus node is doing it on its own? Wondering if maybe you have rate response on and it's the culprit. We don't need it with av block but sometimes they leave it on anyway thinking it's harmless, but it can compete with our natural sinus rhythm.
My atrial rate crept up over the years. 15 yrs after my first pm for av block, I had to go on a low dose of beta blockers to keep it down.
Thank You

@ frank. No sore places...
@ Wenditt I agree. They interoagated the PM and said everything was working fine as well.
@Tracey: They detected it to be sinus tachycardia. First they thought it was a V-tach. But it wasnt. Do you have complete heart block? I do not know if my rate response is on. I will ask my EP when i see him in a week. Thank you :)
Thanks for all your imputs!

I am just now 40 but have had these blackouts all my life. I am thrilled with the pacer and would do it all over again.

The "Kinda nervous" could be the reason for the elevated HR. The heavy feeling in the chest could be from the same reason.
Our bodies react this way to anxiety. However, if the chest pains become worse I would have it checked again.
By the way, can you find any places on your chest that are sore to press on? sore of spasmed muscles can mimic heart problems.
