I went for my pacemaker check yesterday. The woman that does it is really nice.(i see the same person each time) i've known since a few months after my pm was inserted that a lead was bent (i have 20 and that that would probably wear the battery down quicker. It will be 3 yrs in May that I got it and she said that the battery probably has 9-15 months left. Ok, I can deal with that. When they replce it I'll get a new lead and was recommended monthy phone checks for now but to still go the office in 6 months. well, I just got a call from my drs. office. i'm guessing that he didn't like something because he wants to speak with me at my earliest convienence. Of course they gave me a few times next thursday and Friday morning and asked what one was good. I said none, I can't make it in until at least 3. Working in a school you can't just leave for a bit during the day.So I'm going next Thursay at 3:00. Now I just get to wait a week to see what's up. I guess I could've taken a day off but i'd rather save them until the warm weather or if I really need them (I already know what my personal day is going to be used for.)

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. If that is the case maybe I can schedule it when it's better for me.(Like during a vacation) instead of being told when my surgery is like the first time. The only thing that will be harder this time is that the special needs student i work with this year needs to be picked up at times (he's in a wheelchair most of the time but can walk for a bit with a walker, he just pay attention , just takes off) He's only about 40lbs. but that would still be a no-no if the lead was replaced.
May not be anything bad

Don't stressed yourself out with this. You will have months if the battery is in ERI mode before it needs to be replaced.

I am just now 40 but have had these blackouts all my life. I am thrilled with the pacer and would do it all over again.
Short battery life

With the higher drain on the battery they may not want to depend on the expected life calculation. I wouldn't get too worried about it. If it was anything urgent they would have told you to get in right away.
