I had a dual MRI safe pacemaker implanted on 10/31/11. My two main symptoms before receiving the pacemaker were diziness and being short of breath. I did not have those symptoms again for several weeks after the implant, however, they started again about the end of November. I contacted my EP last week and transmitted a reading and he said that was fine, no episodes were recorded at all. The diziness occurs mainly when laying down and happens even if I wake and turn over at night. The shortness of breath is mainly when climbing stairs. Has anyone else experienced this?

I get that as well, dizzy, short of breath. I could be lying on the couch or bed, and have to remind myself to take a breath and concentrate so hard to do it, weird. Now that I have been exercising a bit, swimming, and walking on a tread mill etc, it seems to be getting better. Hope yours gets better. I have the same thing, I could be in bed sleeping, turn over and wake up with the shortness of breath and am dizzy. What is that?
I have had the same shortness of breath

I had a pacemaker fitted 31/10/11 and I am also feeling shortness of breath. I had a seriously chest infection and my dr has said it could be due to that.
I am not so sure and will be have starting exercise a bit harder than before to see

My goodness Stefany, I am so sorry that you are having such awful problems! I go to see my EP in about a month and I will discuss this with him in person as we only talked about it over the phone. I'm grateful that I don't get dizzy when I'm active, only when I'm at rest. I hope it stays that way! I sincerely hope that they can do something to help you become more independent again! Best wishes to you. Thanks for your response, I appreciate it.

I have stage 3 heart block, dual lead pacemaker implanted. I have POTS. Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (tilt table test and bloodwork confirm). Check with your cardio on having this test done. I am now on .5 mg of fludocortisone to help regulate the blood pressure and heart rate.
I am 36. I have gone from independent to being in need of round the clock care. I had to black out in public before a doctor would listen. I am in congestive heart failure too.

Thanks so much for your comments. It's good to know I'm not the only one having these symptoms, I've been given the okay to start on my exercise bike so I'll see if that helps at all.

I just want to share about the quality of life after my pacemaker, and hopefully increase awareness that lifestyles do not have to be drastically modified just because we are pacemaker recipients.
