I took it for about 2 months and weaned myself off of it. What is the question?

There are a bunch of the members that take metoprolol so fire away with your questions.

I took it for about five months before we realized it was a major cause for the nightmares I was having. Because of its lower polarity, it has an easier time crossing the blood-brain barrier and having some (usually minor) neurological side effects.
However, it's an effective and affordable drug that fits its purpose quite well. The big downside is that many people experience a big drop in energy upon taking it. It is not a drug to discontinue on one's own, and alternative drugs are often available that may have fewer side effects.
Did you have a specific question about the drug? Also, remember that most poison centers (1-800-222-1222) can help with drug information.
lots of questions ?

Sorry for the very late reply.
There are great questions. I don't have all the answers myself, but metoprolol is common enough that any knowledgeable pharmacist can answer those quickly.

I don't mean for this to come off the wrong way, but I have to say it: please don't do what my father did = he stopped taking his Metoprolol cold turkey, without discussing it with his doctor, and he had a massive heart attack and died on September 6th.
This is not to scare you, but any of those beta blockers (and other meds) are taken for a reason and a lot of times some patients start to feel great then stop taking their meds (or skip a few) without realizing the side effects.
Your local pharmacist should be a wealth of information when it comes to Metoprolol or any other drug for that matter. Another way to learn about your medication(s) is to go online, somewhere that is reputable like the Mayo Clinic or John Hopkins or the Cleveland Clinic ... they all have excellent websites.
I do know that beta blockers are infamous for making some people very tired, I remember Dad complaining about that all of the time.
I wish you all the best and like Tommy-2 said: fire away with your questions:)
Take care,
