Chest infections?

Hey guys hope you're all well!, just looking for some advice really. i had my PM fitted in september 2011 for a third degree heart block and have been fine since, over the last few days i have developed some sort of cough chesty bug thing and just wondering if it can be dangerous if it develops into a chest infection? planning to make an appointment with doc on Monday just to reassure myself but any advice would be greatly appreciated! My symptoms at the moment are just feeling a bit chesty and sounding whe i cough as though i smoke 40 a day even though i've never smoked :P xx

The fact that you have got a PM is irrelevant to you developing a chest infection. We all get chest infections from time to time whether we have got PMs or not

also the fact that you have a PM makes absolutely no difference to the likely impact of the infection.

If you are ill enough, see your Dr, and get antibiotics

Hope it clears up soon

Chest infection

There is a mean virus going around that goes through a phase of having a deep cough. It can hang in there for a week or two in some cases.

You are too far out from you pacer implant to have much chance of an infection from it. Sometimes we can get an infection in the incision later if we irritate it, but that kind results in a sore area.
