Hi guys I know it's been awhile! Hope everyone is doing good and enjoying the summer! I had my checkup last week and I have been having a lot of pain in my arm and shoulder. I will have my pacemaker for two years this August! For the last couple of months it seems to be moving like crazy. It sometimes even goes near my armpit where my arm can't close without causing so much pain. My doctor wants to go in and move the pacemaker under the muscle.. He is planning on doing on August 20th. In the very beginning he wanted to place it under the muscle but he said it would be a longer recovery and it would be much painful.. So I agreed not to place it under the muscle and now I have to go back in and do it two years later! I'm so nervous and don't want to do it but can't bear the pain anymore my arm gets numb and it's so uncomfortable! My doctor said the recovery will only be a week? Has anyone ever had it moved and placed under the muscle? Will it be more painful than the first time? I don't know what to expect! Thank you ahead of time!

PM under muscle

My daughter has had her last two PM's placed under the muscle. The recovery is very quick. Think that the worst bit is the surgical glue which takes forever to remove.
To give an indication, for the children, our cardiac unit normally brings the children in at the end of the working week, usually a Friday. This gives them the weekend to recover so that they can return to school on Monday.
There are the same exercise restrictions for the periods advised by cardiologist/EP.
