Finally getting my pacemaker!

So for everyone who has been following my posts know how hard it's been for me! I'm finally getting my pacemaker on Monday! I know I sound crazy for being happy about this .. But it's just I will finally be getting back to my life. I will be able to live again. It may not be the greatest thing to have but if it will give my life then Im grateful. I'm nervous about the surgery Though but that's just part of these many things we could all live without! Thankyou for listening hope everyone is doing okay!

Hi Stephanie
good luck on monday! I think that you are fortunate that you have such a positive outlook already. I think maybe part of that is that you have some notice and warning of the implantation, n also that you found this site first so have been able to hear other peoples experiences already.
I have noticed that people seem to have more difficulty adapting when it is an emergency procedure n a total shock.
You are bound to be nervous, most people are. I was shaking like a leaf but found it about on a par with going to the dentist. i had something to make me more relaxed n I was fine after that. I still was conscious of what was going on, but not afraid or anything. I think i would do the same when I have a change of pacemaker. Discuss it with them beforehand if you think you need something, why make yourself more stressed when there is no need!

A pacemaker suddenly quitting is no more likely to happen than you are to be struck by lightening.
