Very upset!

Hey guys,

I'm sure whoever has been reading my posts I had a EXternal pm put in which was on the outside of my chest for a trail run. It was pacing 40 percent of the time and I was feeling great! I have been taking care of the bandages around my pm and cleaning it like I was instructed to do. It started bleeding from the insertion three days ago not too much but still coming through the bandage. I went back to work Wednesday and was doing amazing felt great until I looked down and my bandage was filled with blood! I then rushed to my doctors office. My doctor is on vacation so his fill in saw me and said everything was okay to call if it still continues to bleed. Thursday I went to work and it was still bleeding. I called and they told me to get to the er right away. Long story short I pulled the pacemaker out! So this morning they had to do emgerceny surgery to remove the pm. So they cant put the new pm in until the wound heals and I'm off antibodic, it could be infected. So my doctor comes back in a week and when he returns he will bring me and place the pm inside my chest! What a crazy week and I'm just so upset I know I couldn't help this from happening but I was finally getting my life back and this happens .. So I'm back to the beginning. I'm trying to hang in there and stay positive it's just so hard to do when things just keep happening

hopefully when you get the PM in the right place (inside of you) things will settle down for you. You deserve some peace & quiet!

Hi! Please pace yourself for awhile. I know that is easier said than done, but you need time to heal from all that you have experienced. Don't hesitate to consult with your medical care about any concerns before they become a problem. You need some happy days, and I hope they come soon. Hopeful Heart

Thank you all!

This sounds horrible and you have my best wishes.

Do you have to go to work ??..maybe a little time at home to allow yourself to get some R&R would make sense. Make sure that key people know what is going on, I'm sure they will do all that they can to help you get back to normal.

The good bit is that you say that you were "feeling great" when you first got your PM...this is something to look forward to.

Take care

I still feel great today and can’t stop feeling excited at my "new" life. Modern day miracles through medicine and electronic devices are amazing!
