I cannot see where that small of a magnet could have any effect! That said however there may be something "special" about these ones and perhaps caution would be advisable. Just hold it/sling it on the opposite side and I'm sure you would not have a problem. My theory on something small like that has been try it, if it affects me, move it and don't do it again.

As Patch said, most of those warnings are written by lawyers, not doctors. If you get it closer than 6" from your device and feel funny, hold it on the other side. It's not dangerous to get a magnet too close, the worst that can happen is you put it in test mode while the magnet is too close. As soon as you get the magnet away, it returns to full function. It's annoying, not harmful, but it's unlikely it will be strong enough to have any effect.

magnets and the like

I felt 'queer' when I had the wand entering court, getting too close to a generator and standing in front of a p.a.system. (I did not know they had magnets) Nothing else so far has effected it. So why don't I feel any different when I have the pm monitored. I had it monitored by the tech last week, and I concentrated so I could feel something, but felt nothing.

airport security

They now use the wand at airports full body I was quite concerned because of the magnets. I asked my pacemaker technician and was told as long as they don t go over the pacemaker everything is fine. I still feel a bit queer going through the airport until I am through all the security I may be need to relax more !!

Pat down

At airports here in Australia, if you have a pm they will give you a pat down not the wand, as they have been told it is a no no. However in the federal court they will not do a pat down, and I don't know why. I just hope I don't have to go to court, I only went before to support a son. Whatever the tech says, I really did feel queer when having the wand.
