No check ups

I had my PM almost 2 years. I have only seen my cardiologist once since my surgery. I am monitored every 3 months using my monitor. I do see my regular doctor ever 3 months. How often do you see your cardiologist for a check up if everything is going ok as far as you know.

am checked every 3 months (alternate office visit with home phone check). I am sure I could see EP more often if needed but has not been necessary in the 12 yrs I have had PM. I see him when its time for a PM switch out. See my regular cardio every 2 yrs or so. My only problem with heart is the electrical system & PM helps that. So that may be a lot different for others depending on what is wrong.

I had open heart, have damage to the left side of my heart its been almost 3 years since Ive seen my cardio doctor. Do a home test first 3 months next 3 months go to see a teck for pm check. At last check I asked why I hadnt seen my doctor for so long, now I go to see him today. My regular doctor is a joke, I have to ask and ask when im having blood test ect....Have an appointment with him next month and it will be my last Im going to go to a new doctor. Here is an example of the care I get from my family doctor have a blood test and shows my pscs are elevated so he sends me to a specialist he isnt concerned because there is no history of elevation of pscs so I tell him Im scheduled for another blood test in three months he say he will wait for that one then after he wants to see me, well I have the test in aug. get the results by mail and lo and behold I cant find the psc level, I go to the specialist and he cant believe they didnt test me. This was the final straw for me on my family doctor who Ive had for over 30 years. What im saying is ask why and on what time frame are you supposed to see your cardioligist but like was posted on other answers it all depends on your condition. Mine is heart damage,pm with defib implantation, and have been told when I had my bypass that a transplant was in my future, thats why Im perplexed at the lack luster treatment Im recieving from my doctors.

thanks
