I'm 56, had a PM inserted 5 months ago, and have been playing co-ed softball for the past 3 years. I want to play again this Spring. My position is catcher. Any advce from other softball or baseball players out there who have a PM?

but DONT take a direct hit on the unit......go back thru your records and remind yourself what the replacement costs would be and don forget to add in the "installation costs" also

Bio shield

you may want to check out bio shield for a shirt that has pad insert over the pacemaker area. It is actually for hurters to absorb the butt impact, but it great if a ball or throw it threw to hit your shoulder.It fits perfect over the pacemaker area....

I play baseball and also catch and also play rugby league.. I havent had any dramas with my PM. Baseball i wear a little shield i made and league i wear mm like a spounge :)

Thanks for all the advice! I went to a sporting goods store and bought a heavy-duty chest protector that catchers use. I think it will work out well. Spring practice begins next week! I'm a little nervous, but I'm really anxious to play again.
