Wondering

Hi everyone, Very grateful that I found this site a month ago after my ICD implant..Last week had my follow up with Cardio Doc. and I ask him ..how do you remove the glue they used around the stiches..mm he sad you should be able to just pull it off...so when I got home I did... and I found what look like some type of thread material..I cut it off. Im wondering what it was..I dont have my appt with the ElectroCardo Doc until Dec 2...IM hoping it wasnt 1 of the leads...been feeling ok... Wondering if there is many ppl from Miami...It would be nice to have contacts here...Thankx Terry

I had the samething but mine was a knot and I went into the clinic and had it snipped off. I was told by the doctor that it is a thread that they use under the skin and from what I understand it stays there. It does not dissolve. I still have a very small piece left so I guess I'll have to have them snip it a little closer.

I had one or two of those both with the original implant and with my replacement. They started sticking up and snagging on clothing so I just grabbed the end with a pair of tweezers and gently pulled them out. I say gently because I didn't want to do any damage if they were still knotted around something inside. Worked out fine in both cases. The cardiologist said fine if it didn't bother me to to do it.

I had one of those threads poking out also. I called and asked, they said snip it off and put a dab of bacitracin on it. It definitely wasn't a lead! They are much larger and would not poke out, they are screwed into the pm and go into your vein, sometimes there is extra and they coil it behind the device.

I'm about an hour north of you.

Thanks
