Neck Surgery Over..
Yea. I had my neck surgery March 8th and the surgeon said there was no problems. They put a magnet over the defibrillator to cut it off during the procedure. I was very scared because only 6 months ago my EF was 10 and a month ago it was in the 20's. I am 100% dependent on the pacemaker. I am hoping that with time my heart muscle will get stronger. My world got crushed when I found out I had severe Cardiomyopathy. Up until about a month ago I felt that my life was over but I was determined to get a new mind set and I did. I have been focusing on faith and the Lord more and I feel so much better. Time really helps and support from friends. I try to forget about my heart problems, but it is hard with the palpatations and flutters. That is when I try to focus on something else. For all the new pacers just hang in there, it does get better. I am so thankful for this website. It is really a big help...

Faith

I am also 100% dependent on my PM. I have a St. Jude. when I think about being so dependent, then I get anxious, but like you, I have faith and hope and confidence that God knows what He's doing. I know when I start to question this whole thing that just started with a stomach ache last October 2010, and turned into an ICD, then I can get myself in a mess. So I read this website (really) and see that there is so much positive feedback that I can't take the time to feel sorry for myself. Thanks for your upbeat letter. I hope I won't need surgery for anything soon, but I know already you've helped if I do.

I sincerely hope my post helped. Wow u have 4 children. I don't know what Meds they put you on but I stayed very tired for about 6 months. It seems like now I am getting my energy back. I'm sure you will have funny feelings along the way but most of the time your body is adjusting to the changes. The one thing that helped me the most is that the Lord has his handbon my shoulder at all times looking over me and my family. There is a reason for everything. It took me a while to figure that one out. I wish you the best...
I had my ICD implanted last Wednesday, so this is so new to me

I am glad to hear that there is hope. I am a 33 year old mom of 4. I love my life, and swallowing this huge pill of heart issues has been far beyond the words difficult. Thanks for you words of encouragment.

I am just grateful to God that I lived long enough to have my ICD put in. So many people are not as lucky as us; even though we sometimes don't feel lucky.

Glad to hear it all went well. The neck surgery itself was probably the worse part of it.
best wishes
