Gout

After the pacemaker, my doctor added heart medication causing side effects. The worst lately has been something that my doctors believe is gout: complete pain now and then in my feet - to the point that I need to go to the emergency room. It could have been caused by an ED drug that is also needed because of the heart medication slowing blood flow. Welcome to the new economy: the drug company cycle for the baby boomers. And, of course, since the pacemaker, walking up stairs is nearly impossible. And don't tell me this is mental, please.

I was unable to walk up stairs, or down the stairs, before I got my pacemaker. I was already taking anti-gout meds Allopurinol before I got a PM. I have noticed a few of the meds I am on now actually have gout as a side effect, so I am trying to lose a little weight so I can get off so many meds I am taking now.

My dad gets gout. Try some cherry juice and celery. You can get them in tablet form from iherb. It works better than the meds for him.

I have a well tuned pacer. I hardly know I have it. I am 76 year old, hike and camp alone in the desert. I have more energy than I have had in a long time. The only problem is my wife wants to have a knob installed so she can turn the pacer down.
