Heart Rate and Step Counter

I am looking for recommendations for gizmo that can do a good job of both tasks.

Tried an inexpensive one and the step counter came out eay low. The heart rate didn't measure anything. Is it true that a chest strap measure of heart beat can interfere with my implant unit?

TIA

I use a Garmin 310 XT GPS watch with a chest strap that gives me heartbeat on the watch graph and also time speed and distance within 30 feet accuracy. The chest strap is compatible with my St Jude PM 2210.

The watch info is uploadable to your PC via a Garmin program for graphing, archiving, or forwarding and also works with a metabolic scale for weight and body data composition. uploading from watch to PC.

The watch and chest strap are a little pricey ($350), but state of the art in technology.

I also use an inexpensive Sportline demand watch and chest strap, works either on demand or gives continuous readout as desired but does not record data for uploading as the Garmin watch does.

It is available at Walmart in the Sports section. I have gone through at least 5 or more heart watches in the last 5 years and by far the Walmart Sportline watch is the Best and reasonably priced @ $49.00. It is also very compatible with my PM. My Sportline recently stopped and I sent it back and received a new one as they have a Lifetime guarantee. Yes they are made in China, but with excellent technology for the price!

Hope my info helped you

Hi, I went onto the Walmart site to have a look at the 'Sportline' unit/s, & there are 2 models ~ the Solo915 & the Duo1025. Both are described as not needing a chestband, but only the 1025 is said to have both on-demand as well as continuous HR display, yet the catalogue pic shows what looks like a chestband included .. .or mebbe it goes elsewhere, like the wrist or thigh? Can you help clarify this please . .. . going by the price you've mentioned I guess yours is the Solo915, does it provide constant display? Thanks for any help you can suggest. Bruce ;-]]

Sportline

I have tried the Sportline Solo (lower number model). It reads just fine while sitting. It won't give a readout while walking. I'm still waiting for the EBay seller to post my refund.

This seems to be the standard complaint about all non-strap watch models --- from reading reviews n the net.

Counters with Chest Straps

How do you know they are compatible with the pacemaker? Or that there is no interference?

You know you're wired when...

Bad hair days can be blamed on your device shorting out.
