thank you for your responses concerning 'light swimming'. i had great time swimming with my grandsons. i took it easy and had no problems. i have a st jude model pm2210 pacemaker. the rate response is not on and i do have problems with hills and any strenuous activity. is it possible that the pm2210 does not rate response ?
thanks again,
schobo

I love to swim with my grand kids too. Mine is the same as yours. Mine is on full blast and I have a wonderful time with it. I am limited due to other medical conditions, but have no problem with one of the pleasures of having Grand Children. Like the old saying goes, "If I knew they would be so much fun I would have had them first."

P.S. I do have three wonderful children and 4 grandchildren, one on the way, and they are truly great, all of them.
Rate Response

Hi. I'm typing this sitting in my garden so don't have all my pacemaker manuals to hand.cardiacathletes.org. It does sound as if you don't have your rate-response turned on ... it may have been left with ' factory settings ' for some reason. It amazes me how few questions we all ask our doctors ... I suppose because they don't like answering medical questions ... funny that ... get answers ... get printouts ... that's even better if you are a sporty nut ... Lars, www

I finished 29th in London in 2 hours 20 minutes 30 seconds which is my fastest with or without a device so clearly it didnt slow me down ! I had no problems apart from some slight chaffing on my scar - more Vaseline next time.
