I will be running my first marathon next week and was wondering if there are any runners in the group. If so, do you have your settings adjusted before a run? Thanks

Congrats on being ready to do a marathon!
Why would you change the settings before? Whatever works to train should be more than enough for a race.

sassygal:
as I have been told and read repeatedly on this site: it really helps us to respond when you fill in your bio. This way we know more about you and your device.
I just started back running after 7 weeks. I wish you well in all your running!

......................this Forum is just piled high with Runners and all manner of sportspeople.
If you have had a recent 'interrogation/download' I think it unlikely that settings need any change. Questions :
1...Does your Doc know of your plans ?
2...Do your technicians know of your plans ?
3..What Marathon are you going to do ?..let us know. We can look it up and send out some good vibes on the day.
Keep out of injury and enjoy the day.

As others have said, if the settings are good enough for your training, they're probably good enough for your race. I've not heard of adjusting settings prior to a race and, in fact, would be hesitant to do so, since changes always take some time for my body to get used to.
I just ran a half last weekend (yay!) and had my best time ever. I just kept repeating to myself "I am healthy; I am strong; I can run all day long!" It was an awesome run and I wish you the same!
You can do it!
Keep the settings

Well, whatever I have to say is too late, but I agree to leave the settings. If you were 1 week away, then you are already tapering and the hay is in the barn so they say. You wouldn't get different shoes one week out, so definitely don't change settings. I just completed my second "post pm" marathon myself. I told the cardiologist my plan and he told me to just take it easy but I doubt he has any concept how marathons are not in the same league as just running in general. I'm 64 so had no problem taking it easy running a 4 hour marathon. If you are younger and prone to being more competitive you may approach it differently. If that's the case, your first one should definitely not be trying for a p.r. If it goes well, then plan a p.r. for your next one. Anyway - too late, so post something about how you did.

If your training runs are going well you should be ok. Good luck on your marathon and keep us posted. I did my first post implant 1/2 in October. Slow going but I finished.
