I am a 44 year old male who is fairly active. I play softball two days a week and golf twice a week.
My doctor recommends a pacemaker to help with my cardiogentic syncope.
What is the average recovery time. How long before I can play golf and/or softball.

Hi
My Doctor advised me not to play golf for 8 weeks, which I did. No problems playing golf after that. Good luck and don't over do it.

I wasn't really self-conscious about it. I didn't even know I had one until around six or seven years old. I just thought I had a rock in my side.

Drs vary but most of them want us to take it easy for about 6 weeks. We can be active in that time, just no lifting and the left arm (assuming your device is on the left) has to stay lower than shoulder level to avoid dislodging the leads. My doc said no vigorous movement such as swinging a golf club for 10 weeks. After that, anything goes!
