ICD box under skin

I had my ICD implanted Feb 2010 and now that the swelling at the surgical site has gone down I am left with several "bumps" from the implant projecting from under my skin. Shows up as a small box implanted with small bumps. Anyone else's ICD surgery resulted in this post surgical look? Is this normal? I am on the thin side but this small box/bumps are jutting out from under my skin. Thank you for any comments or advice.

I have a PM, not an ICD. But I can see the box, and the leads. Posted about it just a couple of days ago, and everyone said it was normal. I also saw my cardiologist a week ago and he said everything looks fine.

I am thin - 115lbs, 5ft 6in. It makes me feel weird when I look at it, so I know how you feel.

I'm female and small frame. Mine sticks out and in fact, you can clearly see the shape and the leads just under the skin. I asked both my cardiologist and EP and both said it was fine..the thinner you are, the thinner layer of skin there is to cover the new hardware. I still can't stand the idea of intentionally touching it, as it just weirds me out. It's been about 3 mos now and the swelling is all gone so I think this is as good as it's going to get. The scar looks like it will fade to almost nothing but I think the lump is going to be more noticeable. I think I've resigned myself that it's ok and I'm now not even concerned with trying to hide the thing. It's a small price for the peace of mind, so I guess that's the bottom line for me.

I'm 35 and got my pacemaker a little over a year ago. It definitely is not a burden to me. In fact, I have more energy (which my husband enjoys), can do more things with my kids and have weight because of having the energy.
