pain after 3 yr ago insertion

Hi fellow members. Any advice?

My PM inserted 3yrs ago has up to now been successful,, with little or no pain in the area. However, following a moderately heavy day yesterday gardening, which I love, I have suffered intermittent pain in the PM site. I have kept away from any effort today, but am still getting soreness and discomfort. Am i worrying unnecessarily, and can i expect this to subside in a few days? Anyone out there who has had a similar experience? I would love to hear from you. I do not want to carrry the heavy cost of consultantancy if it is just a case of suffering a few days discomfort for my rashness in the garden. I am 72 yrs old and love the tilling!

Been there, done that several times and it's gone away on its own each time within a few days. Odds are you just aggravated your scar tissue. As long as you don't have any other symptoms, don't worry about it. Ice may help.

love my gardening also

Hi! Tilling -- Now that is a work out for the pacemaker area, but oh so good for the spirit of those of us who love gardening. I am close to your age. A little tricky to master, but I have found that if I work with the upper arm of the implant side closer to my body, it reduces the stress to the implant area and I have less soreness later. If your current symptoms worsen or you get heart related symptoms or fever, swelling, etc., please get prompt medical advice. Happy gardening. Hopeful Heart
