Hello all! It's been a while since I posted... hope everyone is well:-)
Was wondering if anyone has ever experienced muscle pain where your pacemaker is implanted? It's been over two years since my surgery, and have not had pain since the first 3 or 4 weeks. It feels like I pulled something but have not done anything that would have caused a muscle strain. It just feels weird, and I'm wondering if anyone else has felt something similar. Thanks!

I have an IPG dual lead and yes I have experienced different types of muscle pain. Also a stinging type of discomfort from time to time. Kind of like sticking your tongue to a 9 volt.. Idk what it is though or why I feel it.
Good question BrynaR

Hi there,..my PM will be two years old on Nov 5th. Recently I have experienced discomfort / soreness at the 'apex' point of the PM . At this point there is very little flesh coverage and I suspect that, because my work involves a lot of lifting and heaving about of furniture panels ( I design and build interiors ), that I get a degree of bruising at that point. Like you I really thought that after this time all would be ok.
Tracey,..I think you put it well, and, as ever, with elegant humour.
So, BrynaR , its a response but not an answer. There are far more knowledgeable guys out there to give you something hopefully more usefull
Best wishes Tattoo Man

I also had my ICD for a little over 18 months now. Yes I do feel pain in the center up high in my chest, under my armpit, and shoulder blade. Whet and had it checked out twice. Two different doctors. Pain is being caused by as the doctors said, I am a "week-end warrior" ( home repairs and lifting ) Nothing to worry about.

It's always been when I've done something to stir it up, however. Too many push ups or something new at the gym or when the Wii was new (boxing was FUN, who knew?! lol) Have you done anything new lately that could aggravate it? Sometimes it's subtle, it took me a week to put it together when it was the boxing game because it was innocuous. Sleeping funny can do it, too.
Keep an eye out for swelling, red streaks, oozing, fever. It's very rare to become infected years after implant but not unheard of.
