Hi All,
I had my ICD Medtronic Virtuoso II implanted on 27 Oct 2009 and recently had the device checked on June 11 2010. In the last check, it was picked up that my heart rate on one ocassion went up to 182 bpm. This was due to the fact that I was exercising. I do exercise (cardio and weights) on a regular basis.
Last night (07 Aug 2010). I started to hear beeping sounds, that lasted up to 10 secs but didn't realise that it was from my ICD. Today while chatting with a friend, I heard it again, and soon found out it was from the device. The beeps has taken place 4 times thus far.
Since, it's the weekend, I can't do much, but wait to speak to the doctor on Monday.
Has anyone had similar instances where the device began to beep and also what could be trigerring these beeps? I don't see it as a battery issue as it was only implanted 10 months ago.
Any thoughts and also anything I should be concerned about?
Thanks.

I wouldn't be here if it were not for this amazing technology inside of me.

I have a Metronic and one steady beep means an interference. A pulsing beep....may mean a problem with leads, etc. Call your doctor first thing Monday. annette
