Hi all and Happy New Year to everyone. Since finding and joining this site a few months back i have found it to be very informative even if i didnt post a question i usually find out info i was lookin for by reading other post and comments. I have also found it to be quite uplifting that theres alot of nice positive people with great additudes on life like myself and thats always nice to see especially with all the negativity in the world today.
Anyway im posting on here to ask a couple questions ill try to be as brief as possible, i had my ICD put in on Oct 14 in the hopes it would help with many problems i was havin and to be there "just in case" as the doc said but one of the main hopes was that it would increase my EF b/c i really need to have surgery for my aorta. Unfourtantly that hasnt happened it is currently at 15% (EF) which is up from 6% but obviously still not good. So i saw my cardiologist yesterday and he says we have to move ahead now with heart transplant. I go see a group called LifeLink on Tuesday to get the process movin again. I had a catharezation done in Nov but they put it on hold hopin to give the ICD some time While i had been told this was might have been a pssibility i guess i never really took it seriously. But i trust my doc and i have all the faith in the world in the good Lord and have the support of a wonderful family so im greatful for that. What im wonderin though is i know this is a pacemaker site but i was wonderin/hopin if anyone here might have either themselves or known someone who went through something similar if or u know of any place like this site were i could talk with others in a similar circumstance. If so i would greatly appreciate any feedback or info u can share. Im sorry to be a little long winded there i have some info about me under my member list if u need to know any background on me Thanx in advance for listenin and for any help u can give
God Bless and Good Health to you all!!
PS Im especially interested in findin or talkin with people around my age (Im 30) who have similar heart problems b/c i live in an area were im the youngest person by about 40 some years especially when i go to cardio rehab i think people there think im a spy!!

You are so young that you have to try everything and give from you everything. There are several support groups, www.tripleheart.org, changeofheartsupport.com I think that you should look for a group in your area.
Best wishes,

I have had my pacer since 2005. At first it ruled my life. It took some time to calm down and make the mental adjustment. I had trouble sleeping and I worried a lot about pulling wires. Now I just live my life as I wish.
good luck

I don't have any advice whatsoever but I wish you the very best!
I've been the youngest at my cardiologist for almost 40 years now. I keep waiting to see someone younger than me in the waiting room! I know they have to have other patients younger but they never come when I do. The nice thing is they always take me out of order at the pacer clinic because I'm the only one there not retired, lol.
