Recently I have been having some of the same symptoms as before my implanted dual chamber medtronic PM such as lightheartedness, breaking out in a sweat when I exert myself at all associated with some shortness of breath but no chest pain or discomfort. When I relax the symptoms subside. These things started right after taking a shower a couple of weeks ago and accidently slipped and in trying to support myself by grabbing the rail that swung the arm on the side of my PM up and over my head and I noticed the symptoms right away but thought it may be from some medications I am on even though I never had an adverse affect form them after being on them for ten years or more. I did have a remote PM check but did not hear anything so I figured it was fine. I was going to check with the cardiologist today but call it coincidence they called me today and want me to come in to go over the results of that remote and do an in office one but she would not tell me any results over the phone. Has anyone ever heard of this before? thanks hunter

THANKS

I did forget to mention that I had it implanted in October of 09 and felt like I had a new lease on life as I could breath better and generally felt better considering my severe spinal condition that I have been treated for for over 10 years with surgical and non surgical procedures as none have worked and the only thing that can be done now is long term pain management since none other has helped. Thought at least one issue was taken care of and I am sure they will get to the bottom of it. Thanks for taking the time to post your comments.
UPDATE

I thought I would give all my PM friends an update on my check up. I got good and bad news, what do you want first? well if your like me the bad so I can be cheered up by the good. I discovered that I still have cognitive heart failure and it has advanced from my last check and an suspect still having mitral valve prolapse. I have to go back next week for a echo to find out. Now the good news my PM is doing great it told the Dr. that I had not had a a-fib since Dec 20, 2009 at 2:33 a.m. amazing. Their advice to me was to try to do as much light activity as possible and not over do it but doing nothing at all would be worse than nothing at all. Also to keep up my sense of humor as I love to joke around and be around interesting people and jabberjaw. Well thanks again to my new PM family. Hunter

Dear Deer.
I am glad to hear that you are going in to have this checked.
I am only guessing but it sounds like a lead issue.
Perhaps your pacer needs some settings adjusted.
Keep us posted.
Take care,
Pookie
