Going to strangle myself with my bra strap...

I know that other women with pacemakers struggle with the bra strap issue, so I am hoping someone out there has a creative solution.

I have had a pacemaker for 20 years and have always had some irritation with bra straps. I thought I had a pretty good solution--I wear strapless bras, then wear a tank top/cami that has the built in bra support thing---the straps are softer, rounder and narrower and cause less irritation, plus I got more support that just a strapless bra.

However, I just got #4 a few weeks ago and there is knot in my incision ( I get keloid scars, so I think it might be that starting to form..), that is right underneath where any strap would touch.

Short of wearing a piece of gauze taped over it or a big band-aid every day, has anyone found a creatice solution that works for them? Thanks!

You might also try one of those fuzzy things they put on seat belts. Just wrap it around your bra strap instead.

Try Foam

I used a small piece of foam under the bra strap. I used a piece from an old foam pillow. Worked like a charm !! The bra strap held it in place and it provided a nice cushion. :-) Good luck. Hope you find a solution that works for you.

Try Silicone bra strap cushions. Did the trick for me. Usually go on top of shoulder but I put mine right of incision and it works wonderful! Maidenform makes some, just google bra strap cushions and you will find them. Good luck.

It is just over 10 years since a dual lead device was implanted for complete heart block. It has worked perfectly and I have traveled well near two million miles internationally since then.
