Feeling strange all of a sudden

I am still pretty new to the site as I had my PM inserted October 15, 09. My CHF and LBBB was caused by a viral infection that attacked my heart muscle. Anyway, my PM is a 3 lead device and I have been feeling pretty good. Last week I had a day when I felt very dizzy and just plain weird. My chest felt tight and my breathing felt labored. I had been decorating my workplace for a big Halloween party and after finishing up that, I started to just suddenly feel weird. I went straight home and did nothing for the rest of the day and started to feel better later in the evening. I felt pretty freaked out. I feel like I am starting to become worried over every thing that happens in my chest. Anyway I called my cardiologist the next morning and he wants to see me this week. I have felt pretty good ever since the one episode. Anyone else feeling this way?

Your Dr

Wow - be so thankful you have a Dr who will see you right away. From other posts on this site there are so many people who can not get in to their Dr ... which to me is so wrong. Guess from their Dr's point of view it is so routine. But it is not for us. As to your question - I have a dual lead and there are still days I do not do so well. But I tend to overdo things .. so slowly I am learning to pace myself (ARGH!#@!). If I work for an hour outside transplanting bushes I have to stop and sit for about 5 minutes and have water - then I am good for another hour - and so on. Maybe you just pushed a little too much? Maybe the settings need adjustment as you become more active? Hope this helps you ...

Thanks for the feedback. I also forgot to mention that I have been retaining some fluid especially in my midsection and hands and feet. Actually the scales say I have gained about 8 pounds in about 4 weeks. I wonder what that is all about, especially since my eating habits have not changed, if anything I have been less hungry. I wonder if this could be related to chf?

Glad I went to the doc

After waiting a week I finally saw my cardiologist yesterday and he determined I was retaining fluid around my heart. Said it is common, but not a good thing. I'm glad I was paranoid and went to see him. He put me on a new med and diaretics for 3 weeks. I've already lost 2 pounds and my rings go on my fingers already. So if something just doesn't seem right, please don't be afraid to ask your doctor because it's better safe than sorry.

The pacer systems are really very reliable. The main problem is the incompetent programming of them. If yours is working well for you, get on with life and enjoy it. You probably are more at risk of problems with a valve job than the pacer.
